We knew we wanted to go to the Mustard Seed. So we put Mustard Seed in our GPS and headed there. To our surprise, there was another Mustard Seed. After we shopped we were hungry and walked upstairs to eat at this cafe. I did see that they have an elevator. It is so open and airy and looks so fresh and clean. I'm always a little flustered when I need to go through my entire list of allergies with someone. The person at the cash register did not bat an eye and was very kind and patient. We placed our order and sat down. They have live music on Saturday nights which was cool. They served our food at our table. The reason I gave them 4 stars is that they did not have the Parmesan for their Caesar Salad as stated on menu. Mind you, they are connected to the supermarket, you would have thought they can complete the recipe on their menu. The salmon that was the protein requested for that salad was excellent.

My daughter in law enjoyed her roasted chicken sandwich and sweet potato fries, my granddaughter liked her cheese pizza and I had the vegan thai, it was a little too spicy for me and had a sour note but my juice was good.

Mustard Seed is one of my favorite places to eat in Akron. They cater to various dietary restrictions with dairy free, gluten free and vegan options on many items. The food is always great as well as their drink selection. You can also buy food or drinks from the market downstairs and bring it up to the cafe to eat. They have lots of seating indoors and on their outdoor patio, which overlooks Highland Square. There's also live music on the weekend and they offer brunch too, but I haven't been there in awhile for either of those. Overall I'd recommend for anyone looking for a good, healthy lunch or dinner, or just for drinks.

Mustard Seed Cafe is easily one of the best casual dining experiences in Highland Square, consistently delivering food that is both well-crafted and clearly made with high-quality ingredients. It’s the perfect spot for a quick lunch or a relaxed dinner, and I highly recommend it to anyone in the Akron area looking for genuinely fresh and flavorful food. The service model is wonderfully efficient: you order at the counter and the wonderful staff brings your freshly prepared food right to your table. The atmosphere is casual, clean, and inviting. A huge bonus during warmer months is their fantastic outdoor patio, perfect for people-watching in Highland Square! Now, onto the stars of the show, the food. Everything I've tried has been exceptional. The Buffalo Cauliflower is an absolute must-try appetizer; it's crispy, perfectly sauced, and surprisingly filling. We found this amazing place thanks to a recommendation from a local we met at a Stan Hywet museum. We're visiting from Florida and asked her for a local spot, and I'm so glad we did. The food is absolutely delicious and tastes so fresh. We ordered the avocado BLT, and the sourdough bread was perfectly crispy and delicious. We also had the wings as an appetizer, and my strawberry lemonade was wonderful. The flourless cake was an excellent finish to the meal. This place is a definite must-try, and I'll be recommending it to everyone I know!
